Our Quinceañera.com Expo and Fashion Show arrives to Los Angeles from noon to 5:00 p.m. on May 20, 2012 at the Shrine Auditorium’s Expo Hall. Admission is FREE.

The interactive event will include a live Quinceañera dress fashion show, a VIP Lounge for Quince girls,  and various on-site party planning services.  The presentation of Quinceanera.com Magazine’s Los Angeles cover girl will also take place during the event.

Online registration for Quinceanera.com’s Los Angeles Quinceañera cover girl contest is now closed. Quinceanera.com Magazine’s cover girl contest is open to young ladies between the ages of 14-16 at time of entry.

Attendees of the Los Angeles Quinceanera.com Expo and Fashion Show will also have the opportunity to win one of two Quinceañera dresses from Raul Corona and Moda 2000, courtesy of El Clasificado, as well as an iPad and various sponsor prizes.

The Venue

The Shrine Auditorium’s Expo Hall offers 54,000 sq. ft. of space that can be transformed into a grandiose Quinceañera event. The Expo Center has been home to the Academy Awards Governors Ball, post show press and green rooms for the Grammy’s, the American Music Awards, the Soul Train Music Awards and the televised production of the American Comedy Awards. It has also been used as a roller skating rink, but on Sunday, May 20, 2012, the Expo Hall at the Shrine Auditorium will be transformed into a Quinceañera party-planning haven with various onsite vendors offering the best deals and latest Quinceañera trends!

The Quinceañera Dresses

Designer Raul Corona of JRC Exclusive Designs will present a new collection of Quinceañera dresses, exclusive for the Los Angeles Expo. The Mexican designer styled and dressed Jazzel Garcia, the model for Quinceanera.com’s 2012 marketing campaign, as well as Claudia Avila, Quinceanera.com Magazine’s San Fernando Valley 2012 cover girl and Angelina Rodriguez, Quinceanera.com Magazine’s Bakersfield 2012 cover girl.

Moda 2000, an Anaheim, California Quince dress and accessories retailer with over 1,000 gown designs available, will also present their collection of Quinceañera dresses. Other dress designers will be added in the upcoming weeks.

Travis Brown, behavior expert, urges you to not turn a blind eye if you witness this kind of behavior.

Turning fiteen leads to new responsibilities and there is no doubt that adolescence is one of the most overwhelming phases in your life. Today, teenage bullying is one of the main issues kids deal with on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, harassment among students is an epidemic that does not discriminate against age, sex, or nationality. Even some of your favorite celebrities, such as Eva Mendes, have been victims of teenage bullying. Recently, the Hollywood actress  shared with us her experience as a victim of bullying and how she survived.

The protagonist of the movie “Girl in Progress” confessed that defending yourself from this type of behavior is not an easy task. But luckily, there are organizations and people that use their positive influence to take a stand against bullying. Travis Brown, also known as “Mr. Mojo”, is one of those individuals fighting harassment among students.

Brown’s awesome task involves visiting schools and speaking with students, parents, and teachers around the world about behavioral effects. The renowned motivational speaker says the best advice is to take responsibility and not turn a blind eye if we witness this kind of behavior.

You can help bullying victims by following the next steps:

2. Give the best advice
3. Serve as support
4. Be a good influence
5. Tell an adult about the issue
6. Motivate your friends into putting an end to bullying
7. Create or support and organization against this abuse

Brown also advises us to offer our humanitarian heart to help fight the abuse happening day by day. With Brown’s inspiration and your good intentions you will sure find other ways of improving the life of the people around you.

There is no such feeling as witnessing the excitement of a group of eager girls who are about to fulfill their dreams, that is exactly how we celebrated our Los Angeles 2012 cover girl Quinceanera.com contest on Sunday April 29th at the Stonewood Center Mall in Downey.

A mixture of feelings highlighted the event from start until the very end where the semifinalists had a chance to not only to introduce themselves but to be part of an unforgettable experience.

During our last event the thrill was double since we had 17 young ladies competing for the grand prize: to become Quinceanera.com cover girl, the choice between a dress or $700, a 2 page spread interview featured in our magazine and website and much more. Although only 10 contestants were chosen as finalists, the smiles and friendly environment was sure enjoyed by everyone.

A photo shoot followed by a short film of the semifinalists shopping at 2B by Bebe and G by Guess opened the event. At this point the girls had the chance to have fun, relax and get a bit more confident but most importantly no one left empty-handed since they were all given a courtesy gift from the different clothing and accessories boutiques.

Our Quinceaneras left the event hoping to participate again and become part of a never to be forgotten journey. If by any chance you missed our past events you still have the chance to enter the contest.

Quinceanera.com has already picked the semifinalists for the Orange County 2012 cover girl. But we still have two contests for the remaining year in Ontario and San Diego.
