Half Up-do Hairstyles for your Quinceañera style

February 13, 2012 | [ 1 ]

hairstylesQuinceanera.com reader Suzanna requested more ideas on half up-do’s for her daughter’s quinceañera. And since here on Quinceanera.com we like to make sure that you have everything you need to make your special day a memorable one, I’ve compiled a few other up-do ideas that will leave Suzanna’s daughter- and any other quinceañera wanting to sport this style- looking like a royal beauty. Take a look!

A bohemian twirl
If you’re an eco-friendly and bohemian chica, or simply going for that look, a tousled half up-do can be the hairstyle for you. In this style, the hair is pulled back with a crown braid, which is the key element to giving this hairstyle that bohemian touch. For your tousled locks, make sure that your hairstylist softens your waves and makes them as carefree as possible by pulling the end of your hair downward (to loosen the curl) and by using a hairspray that will still allow for your hair to move about naturally.

Quinceañera Half Up-do French braidFrench braid up-do
This look is a classic style that can show your lady-like side as well as your daring style by combining a traditional French braid with loose strands. To achieve this look, have your hair curled first and then follow by adding volume to the crown of your head-you can do this be teasing the hair on the crown of your head and finalize with holding spray. Then begin doing the classic French braid, making sure you don’t pull the braid too much so as not to flatten your volume. Complete the braid until you reach the base of your neck. Secure the end of your French braid with a pin that blends with the color of your hair. Retouch your hair by curling the rest of your loose strands.

Quinceañera Half Up-doPinned curls
This pinned-curls look is a simple and classic hairstyle to wear on your special day. Rather than pulling the hair back into a bohemian or French braid, tresses are pulled back and placed in desired locations with hair pins. This look allows the hairstylist to loop the strands before pinning them in order to create a flowing look. The loose tresses are curled semi-tightly and secured with holding spray.
