Other than a little black dress, a maxi dress is another option that is practical, comfortable and stunning to wear as a Quinceañera guest. This garment works with all body types and is ideal for casual or dressy occasions, as well as for the youngest and eldest Quinceañera guest.

Maxi dresses

The maxi dress miraculously accentuates curves and creates the illusion of them where there are none. This type of dress is found in various styles as well as numerous colors, fabrics, patterns and cuts. A maxi can be dressed up with proper accessories, high heels and a shawl, or can be worn more casual when paired with minimal accessories and flats.

When maxis go wrong: One of the most important details of a maxi dress is length. Therefore, a tailored fit is key. And although this design has floor length in mind, it is not meant to kick up dust balls. Also, keep in mind that spillage and bulging are not your best friend, so if you’re wearing a maxi with a plunging neckline as a Quinceañera guest, make sure your assets are nicely tucked into place.

Typically, cocktail-wear consists of knee length skirts or dresses. It also includes long, dressy pants and jackets or cardigan sweaters. Ideally, cocktail attire is more relaxed than something that would be worn to an interview, but less flashy than the latest runway trend.

When cocktail dresses go wrong:  The key to finding cocktail attire that is ideal for a Quinceañera guest is to not choose something that would be worn to a business meeting, for example. Also, it’s important that the clothes be appropriate for your age. For instance, a teenager should choose a dress or skirt over a pantsuit or jacket. And elder Quinceañera guests should avoid wearing a mini tube top dress, which is something a teenager would wear, and instead choose a figure flattering knee length dress or skirt, or dressy slacks.
