Makeup Application

January 18, 2012 | [ 0 ]

Your best ally to help you look beautiful on this special  day is makeup. You should leave this to a professional  but if your budget is limited, seek help from a relative  or friends familiar with makeup application. Also, keep  in mind that the makeup must be appropriate for  pictures.
If you have problems with your skin, it is important that you begin a treatment as soon as possible. You can go to a doctor or use one of the hundreds of treatment masks you can make at home. Begin a diet that is low in fats, chocolates, and foods that affect the condition of your skin.

Cleansing
This is the first step before applying makeup. A deep cleaning requires the use of a toner after rinsing your face to remove any product residue.

Moisturize your skin
This is the next step after deeply cleaning your face. Apply a moisturizer on your face wait about 10 to 15 minutes. This will help your skin look much more radiant.

Foundation
The color of the foundation must match your skin color exactly. However, you should always use one with a matte finish to keep your skin from appearing too shiny. Apply evenly with a sponge throughout the face and neck, unless you have a particular problem area. For instance, if you have dry skin sections, apply extra moisturizer to that area and if you want to minimize any blemishes, use the famous correctors. To set the foundation, you must use a translucent powder. This will help your makeup last longer. Use a large brush to apply the powder.

Blush
You must apply on your cheekbones with a large or medium brush in a circular motion and then in soft horizontal strokes toward your temples. If you smile, it will be easier to contour your cheekbones. You also want to apply a bit of blush lightly on your jaw line. If you have dark skin use reds, if you have light skin use pink tones, and if you have olive skin go for deeper red or eggplant colors. To make your nose appear smaller, it is advisable to apply blush on the lower half of your nose; to make your nose appear narrower, apply a bit of blush along the sides.

Eyes
Eyebrows and eyelashes are very important in your eye makeup. Pluck or wax your eyebrows following the natural shape of your arch in order to define your facial expression. Plucking or waxing your eyebrows is not easy. Therefore, it is recommendable that you go to a professional. Applying mascara to your eyelashes will help your eyes look bigger and more expressive. Use three layers.
When choosing an eye shadow, select two matching tones, a light and a dark one. Apply the lighter one as a base for your eyelid and the darker one to the center towards the outside. Finally, lightly blend the layers until you erase any dividing line between both colors. If you want bright eyes, apply a light eye shadow under the lower lash line and then blend upward toward the outer corners of the eyes.

Lips
Outline your lips with a lip liner and fill in both lips using the same pencil. Next, apply a sheer layer of matching lipstick and if you want to add shine, finish off with a bit of lip gloss.
