Glee Live! 3D! is hitting the big screen
The rumors are true. Glee Live! 3D! is hitting the big screen in an adaptation to the Glee concert tour. The movie will be directed by Kevin Tancharoen, director of “Fame” (1990) and will include the Glee classic “Don’t Stop Believin’,” as well as newer numbers like “I’m a Slave 4 U” (Britney Spears) and “Teenage Dream” (Katy Perry).
The film is scheduled to hit theatres this summer with footage from this year’s Glee tour and, in addition to Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Dianna Agron, will include newer members Darren Criss, Ashley Fink, and Chord Overstreet.
“We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a [Glee] concert would get that opportunity,” stated series creator Ryan Murphy. “Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three-dimensional glory. We promise every passionate ‘Gleek’ a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles.”
With its summer release, Glee Live! 3D! will add to the anticipation for the show’s return to television for the fall season.
