Safety Comes First
Any event that entails the gathering of a large number of people requires many measures that guarantee the safety of every guest. Thus, on the day of your quinceañera celebration, you must consider the type of security you will provide to your guests.
Consider the following tips
- Provide sufficient parking space for your guests to park their vehicles.
- In case there is no space available at the place of the celebration, you must provide valet parking to make sure all vehicles are parked in the appropriate place and that your guests will comfortably arrive at the lobby.
- A security team must secure your guests’ vehicles and handle any possible disturbance such as the illegal consumption of alcohol or arguments that can lead to a fight.
- When you visit tentative locations where you will celebrate your party, take note of the emergency exits: Are they blocked? Are there enough? Are they clearly visible? Where do the exits lead?
- The location must also have enough ventilation and restrooms to satisfy demand.
- Before choosing a location you must make sure there is sufficient space to accommodate the number of guests who will attend your party.
- Depending on the place and total number of guests, we advise that you have a couple of people secure the location so you can keep out uninvited guests
How to select the service
Although companies that provide this type of service are listed in the yellow pages, magazines, and the web, it is recommended that you ask friends and relatives for any recommendations. You can call the Department of Consumer Affairs at 1-800-952-5210 to make sure that the person or company has a valid license to provide this type of service, as well as to see if they have any negative claims pending. You can also consult the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org or (909) 825-7280, where you can obtain information about the company. Finally, consult different security companies and compare prices.
When you are ready to sign the contract, make sure you understand all terms and request a translation of the contract if the negotiation is made in Spanish. Likewise, do not accept verbal deals or anything that is added after the contract has been signed.
Although these services add to the sum of what you will spend for your celebration, remember that no one must ruin what you have been planning for so long on the day of your quinceañera. You can only dream about being a princess once in a lifetime!.
