Britzel Herrera celebrated her quince in a casino in the city of lights and neon, with 500 guests and all the elements to be the best day of her life.

Britzel Herrera can brag all of her life that she had her quinceañera in Las Vegas, with hundreds of guests. Of course if she took advantage from the beginning, because this 15 year old has spent her entire life in the city of casinos. She was born here in the heart of a Latino middle class family, used to move around the ‘strip’, but without stepping on the famous betting area with her friends. She is not yet 21 years for that.

She ensures us that the best day of her life was the most important, her celebration of turning 15, surrounded by 15 chambelanes and 15 bridesmaids. “It was amazing because it was a party for 500 people and was full. It is without doubt the best thing that happened,” she says with conviction.

The party was also on July 4th, Independence Day in 2009. And how could it be otherwise, it happened in a casino, the Silver Nugget, outside the ‘strip’ to avoid crowds and for a tight budget.

Everything for everyone

However, there was everything for everyone’s taste, a feast, orchestra, music and party until midnight. Britzel remembers she left her home with a rental car they call “rorro”, “car of the seventies, classic style to reach the church,” and from there moved to the casino on a bus equipped for partying, dancing and laughter to the casino. “It was probably the best of the entire celebration with all my court of honor, chambelanes 15 and 15 ladies,” she says with a smile. “But there was no alcohol,” she says. “We are not allowed.”

Then came dinner. “To eat we had chicken salad… and many people. ” This decorated with “beautiful orange” which is her favorite color, and a band to entertain the first regional music, “Carrillo Moreno,” a popular Mexican joint gave way to ‘DJ’ to their friends. Held until 12 at night, something that doesn’t happen every day because the time to go home is eleven o’clock on a normal weekend.

School comes First

Britzel does not go out every Friday and every Saturday, but from time to time. And like all girls her age, likes to go somewhere to dance, theme parks and movies, “sometimes with the boyfriend, sometimes without him,” she laughs. “I’ve had boyfriends and sometimes I’m just without a partner,” making it clear that in the future would have a career first and then undertake the task of thinking about marriage and children.

“I’m going to a school of marketing and want to continue with it at UCLA, but still do not know if I want to leave Las Vegas. We’ll see where the future takes me.” Still does not know whether it will in Las Vegas when finished the race, but her dream job is far from the Nevada desert. “I like to work in an office in downtown Los Angeles with an impressive view,” she says without hesitation. But they have little idea of companies or which ones interest you. “Now I’ll look when it’s time,” argues the classic concern about the future of girls her age.

Currently her is life in Las Vegas, which she describes as “a fun style of life,” with many possibilities for fun. Many of the activities that will attract are within the casinos, like going to movies and theme parks in the Circus Circus, or a miniature golf course she likes. And when the heat is on, the pools ‘strip’ is their main objective.

While still fun in mind, she admits that since becoming the quinceañera has begun to see life through different eyes, must be more responsible and share the housework with their parentss. “In fact, I gave my dolls the day after the party,” joked the young. “Obviously I expected of myself a little more maturity than before and now I always think in the future.” She has a lot ahead.
