Exclusive interview with Kristen Stewart
Rebellious and challenging, Kristen Stewart takes part of the fourth and last Twilight movie, “Breaking Dawn”, which will be the first part of the saga’s finale. Hidden behind the character of Bella Swan, Kristen Stewart is one of the main talents of the Twilight brand playing the girl whose heart is torn between the worldly and the supernatural, caught between a vampire’s fidelity (Robert Pattinson) and a wolfman’s conviction (Taylor Lautner).
And although her Twilight affiliation has been great for her career, Stewart has had to sacrifice her private life due to the media and fans’ harassment regarding her hush-hush relationship with Pattinson, her romantic partner in the movie. Even still, it is hard for the young actress to say whether or not she knew what she was getting herself into.
She quit school at nine years old after working with Jodie Foster on “Panic Room” and having shared credits with Sharon Stone and Dennis Quaid in “Cold Creek Manor”. She knew making movies was her destiny despite her disagreements with the Hollywood lifestyle and so-called inability to be politically correct.
Grossing almost 2 million dollars per Twilight movie, Stewart disregards these challenges and continues her work in Hollywood hoping to have a fruitful career post Twilight.
Should we expect a “typical sequel” finale or will “Breaking Dawn” be an exception?
Our fans have been anxiously waiting for this movie, when you have such an expectation it is easier to maintain the quality you have been working with. I would like to say we have input the same level of intensity in all of our movies but it is hard to decide, being part of such a film makes me bias.
How much of has this affected your career?
The change has been great, when we first started we had no idea the sequels were going to take place, it was truly a surprise.
Now that you have found a platform to develop you career, where do you want to take your acting career?
I find it funny when they asked me about my plans since the only thing that is clear to me is that an actor should always be grateful to be employed. I always act impulsively, I do not plan ahead, and to this day I am unaware of where my acting career will take me.
Regarding expectations, will your fans get what they’ve been asking for on this finale? Will there be a wedding and a child?
As much as I love surprising and captivating the audience, the fans have read the books and know what to expect from Bella, and they want what they expect to get. What thrills me more about Bella is not the wedding or the child but what it took to get to that point.
Would you ever do something radical such as turning yourself into a vampire for love?
I will be willing to do as many sacrifices, if not I would not have been able to be a part of this movie.
Everyone discusses Kristen Stewart’s love life with Robert Pattinson, how do you cope with the harassment?
So far I’ve learned to deal with it very well. As long as I answer the questions and then forget about it afterwards, it is all under control.
Does the romance within the movie happen as intensely in real life as well?
It is obvious it is all due to the movie, no one used to care about my love life.
Is there life for you after Twilight?
I hope so, although I have had great experiences already I want to do so much more.
