Vote! 2012 Ontario Quinceanera Cover Girl

During the semifinals event, which took place on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Stonewood Center Mall in the city of Downey, the contestants for Quinceanera.com Magazine’s 2012 Ontario Quinceanera Cover Girl contest stated why they are the perfect candidate to be on the cover of the magazine’s upcoming issue, and also showcased their modeling skills with an onstage runway competition. But perhaps the most nerve-wrecking aspect of the event for the contestants was the interview with the judges. Scroll down for photos.

Vanessa Mendez, Founder of Class With Results, Adriana Sanchez, Latina Lifestyle Blogger, Karla Mason, Doris Makeup Academy, Producer at Global TV, Roseanna Garcia, Founder and Director of Latina Fashionista, Olivia Rios, active member of the Latina Golfers Association, Claudia Gonzalez Pruitt, creator of Beso Moda, Gabriela Tamayo, VP of Marketing/Public Relations Identity LA, and Hugo Hernandez, Director of Marketing at EC Hispanic Media, the parent company to Quinceanera.com, had the task of interviewing the contestants during an on-stage Q&A period. They also scored the semifinalists on their runway walk and overall stage performance, before deliberating and choosing the Top 4 Finalists from which the public will vote for the new cover girl.

Once the Top 4 Finalists were selected and announced on stage, the audience had the opportunity to cast the first votes for their favorite candidate. From the votes turned in by the public, one randomly selected entry was awarded an iPod Touch courtesy of Stonewood Center Mall.

Other onstage events included dance competitions for children, moms and dads, as well as modeling contests for toddlers. Participants of the on-stage contests received prizes from Radio Shack, Sears, Mrs. Fields and American Express gift cards courtesy of Stonewood Center Mall.

Online voting is now open for Quinceanera.com Magazine’s 2012 Ontario Quinceanera Cover Girl Contest and will remain open until Friday, September 14, 12:00 p.m. PST. The most number of votes will determine the winner.

The winner of the contest will be announced on Tuesday, September 18 through the Quinceanera.com newsletter, and will be awarded with the choice between $700 or a Quinceañera dress, her own featured interview in the Ontario 2012 issue of Quinceanera.com Magazine, and will kick off the fashion show at the Ontario Quinceanera.com Expo and Fashion Show held on September 30, 2012 at the Ontario Convention Center. Registration to the event is free.

Prior to the contest’s events, the semifinalists were treated to a photo shoot at Sears at Stonewood Center Mall where they were surprised with a swag bag courtesy of Sears. Check out the pictures of the semifinalists’ “shopping spree” here.
